LOTS OF (SPORTS) ACTIVITIES IN SUMMER

A holiday in Oz-en-Oisans means that you will not get bored easily. Although it is breakfast in the early morning sun. Lounging in front of our chalet. Enjoy the sunset from our 'sitting' in front of the chalet or on the balcony. Due to the sunny location of our chalet and the entire village, the temperatures in summer are extremely pleasant. Ideal for a wonderful holiday. There is plenty to do in Oz en Oisans and the surrounding area. Organized or not? Sporty or relaxed? In the mountains, villages or cities? You have plenty of choice!

Oz-en-Oisans

From our chalet it is a 3 minute walk to the center of Oz en Oisans, where you will find nice shops, intimate restaurants, cozy bars and terraces.

Two cabin lifts take you easily and quickly from the village to the peaks and the eternal snow of the Massif des Grandes Rousses, where you can walk or enjoy the terrace of one of the numerous mountain restaurants.

Oz Station itself has an indoor swimming pool and wellness center.
There is also a real climbing wall.
Especially for the sports enthusiasts there is a climbing park on the other side of the village with climbing courses ranging from simple (green) to very heavy (black)!
In the immediate vicinity of Oz en Oisans you can practice various sports: including hiking, cycling, mountain biking, tennis, volleyball, canoeing, rafting, canyoning, windsurfing, swimming, paragliding, horse riding, motorcycling, climbing and golf.

The local tourist office organizes numerous activities for young and old every week. More information at the Office du Tourisme !!
Le Bessey
The picturesque hamlet of Le Bessey is about 2 kilometers from Oz Station and can be reached via an exciting hike, which includes a waterfall.

The directions can be obtained from the Office du Tourisme. The start is also behind the hotel Moontain; follow the asphalt path down and follow the signs Bessey / Cascade.

The hike is about 1-1½ hours to the waterfall. Back takes a little longer because then you have to climb again.
It is also doable for children!
Vaujanyis located 6 kilometers from Oz Station. Here is a sports center (Espace Loisirs) that has a subtropical indoor swimming pool with jacuzzi and sauna.
Vaujany also offers a variety of shops, restaurants and terraces.

Allemont in the summer is the bustling holiday village at the bottom of the mountain on which Oz Station is located. Allemont is located on the Lac de Verney where many water sports activities take place in the summer, such as windsurfing, sailing and pedal boats. The village also has a beautiful and naturally sunny outdoor swimming pool. You will also find nice and good restaurants and bars in Allemont.

Bourg d'OisansIs the center town of the region. About a 20 minute drive from Oz Station with amenities such as a large supermarket, laundry and many shops. It is a pleasant city where you can enjoy a terrace in the evening and visit the local market during the day.

Alpe d'HuezIs of course known for the famous climb in the Tour de France and the impressive ski area! There are many shops and an international nightlife in winter. The special thing about the heated outdoor pool in Alpe d'Huez is that it is also open in winter.

Venosc A beautiful typical Alpine village in the Parc National des Ecrins. There are many water sports options, because a whitewater river flows past the village. For the fanatics, this is the spectacular challenge for rafting. A little further on lies La Bérarde. A beautiful village that radiates mountaineering!

Grenoble The nearest major city in the region about an hour's drive from Oz Station. Culture, history, sports and of course endless shopping possibilities. So if the weather is not cooperating, Grenoble is the place to visit!

Laffrey A very beautiful lake where a lot of recreation takes place in the summer. Around the lake are several beaches with water sports rental companies, restaurants and bars.
Gap This old town is about an hour's drive from Oz towards Sisteron. With historic buildings and squares built in the French style, which was so typical at the time.

Briançon One of the oldest cities in France and when you approach you will see the ancient fortress towering high above the city. The center of this lively entertainment city has numerous historic buildings with nice restaurants and trendy bars.
