LOTS OF (SPORTS) ACTIVITIES IN SUMMER

Hiking and NordicWalking
Oz en Oisans is the place to be if you enjoy walking. Nice and relaxed about the numerous hiking trails that have been set out in the immediate vicinity. If you prefer a little more challenge, discover the overwhelming nature of the Parc National des Ecrins with exceptional fauna and flora, fantastic villages and numerous glaciers with mountain peaks over 4000 meters. Even experienced alpinists get their money's worth here. You can also take a walk with the whole family in the Massif des Grandes Rousses. Through the landscaped walking paths you can learn the history of the area with the silver mining from the past and the beautiful flora and fauna of the present.

Cycling
The surroundings of Oz en Oisans are the paradise for the sporty cyclist. For many cyclists, climbing the Alpe d'Huez is literally the sporting highlight of the holiday. The presence of many other cols in the immediate vicinity, including the Col du Glandon, Col de la Croix de Fer, Col d'Ornon and Col de Galibier are not only fanatics, but also tour riders a good reason for Oz en Oisans to be chosen as a holiday destination.

The Tour de France it is the annual spectacle that attracts thousands of followers to the region. Always great days with many extra festivities. Oz en Oisans is often the central point from which everything can be followed live.

Another annual event is the Marmotte. Cycling 170 kilometers over 5 heavy cols to finish on the sixth, l'Alpe d'Huez.
And then of course 'our' cycling spectacle Alpe d'Huzes.

Mountain biking
When the lifts are open from late June to early September, Oz and the surrounding area is a mecca for mountain bikers. Climbing, downhill? Everything is possible. The real knocks are there from mid-May to late October to practice their beloved sport here. Mountain biking and downhill riding championships are held every summer in Oz. The annual spectacle of the Sprint and Mega Avalanches, which usually takes place at the end of July, is special. First there are the qualifications, followed by the sprint finals set out on a steep track with the finish in Oz. Resulting in the 1200 best downhillers competing on Sunday for the Salomon Avalanche Trophy by descending from the 3330 meter high Pic Blanc glacier to the village of Allemont at 720 meters.

Oz-en-Oisans is also an ideal starting point for more challenging sports. Paragliding, canyoning, rafting and bungee jumping, climbing, etc.
